Carmelo Anthony hasn’t signed with the Houston Rockets yet but it looks like the team is already willing to give him Jeremy Lin’s jersey. During a visit to Houston today, the Rockets put up billboards showing Anthony in a No.7 jersey.

Jeremy Lin is still on the Houston Rockets and he is still wearing number 7. There have been rumors that the Rockets will trade Lin in order to make space for Anthony. I think it’s safe to say that that is no longer a rumor. The Rockets want Anthony and if they get him they have no problem saying goodbye to Lin.

Of course, Lin might not want to stay in Houston anymore. Would you want to play for a team that is already imagining its future without you?
Lin is trying to stay all zen about the situation.

Carmelo Anthony will be one of the most sought after free agents this year. He’s already had a meeting with the Chicago Bulls and he’ll soon visit with the Dallas Mavericks and the Los Angeles Lakers.
