A 26-year-old man from Texas tried to carjack drivers at gunpoint on his mission for tacos — and wound up in handcuffs, police said.
Taco bout a loco showdown!
Roberto A. Canamargarza, a Mexican citizen, was apprehended Thursday afternoon by Dallas Police after pointing a pistol at various men, shooting one of them and insisting they drive him to a taco restaurant, according to reports, citing an arrest-warrant affidavit.
After urging the first victim to take him to fetch tacos, the driver dropped him off and sped away. He then, turned around and did the exact same thing to two different men — except Canamargarza shot several bullets at both of them.
The second victim was able to dart away as gunshots struck a nearby tire shop. The third, ultimately got shot in the lower body before Canamarganza climbed into his car. After the vehicle didn’t start — allegedly he ran to seek out other victims.
Police detained Canamargarza on four counts of aggravated assault and one count of aggravated kidnapping, accordant to a Dallas County Court arraignment sheet.
Canamargarza is presently being held in Dallas County jail. His bail is set at $500,000 and he faces an immigration hold.
