If you watch a lot of Instagram videos you have probably seen your fair share of ads from popular brands.
A new study by the team at viral video firm Unruly analyzed the platforms top performing videos to determine where they originated from September 9 through October 9. The study found that 40% of those Instagram videos were created by brands. The study also found that MTV was the biggest winner with 84 of the top 1,000 videos. MTV videos were shared a total of 130,000 times.
Instagram video was launched in June and almost immediately top brands from around the world jumped on the chance to push their products out to Instagram users.
According to Unruly entertainment brands are the most likely to succeed in the world of social-based, short-form video playback.
It would be interesting to see how the top Instagram brands fare on Vine and other platforms. A study by SimplyMeasured found that more big brands use Instagram video over Vine.
With more than 150 million users the move towards Instagram videos makes sense, even when Vine is likely to be named the top downloaded app of 2013. Instagram ties into a brands Facebook focus and allows for quick embedding and simple to produce, yet highly viral posts.
