Benedict Cumberbatch stopped by Sesame Street recently to help teach kids how to count, and to solve a mystery posed to him by Murray Monster, who calls himself Murray-arty.
The British actor known for his time on Sherlock and playing Khan on Star Trek Into Darkness tried (and failed) to convince Murray that he isn’t actually Sherlock. While the creature doesn’t believe him, he obliges by calling the actor Benedict-Sherlock.
After Murray poses a mystery to Cumberbatch, the actor calls upon an expert to help him. While Murray-arty hopes the expert is Watson, the actor instead brings in Count von Count. Who better to solve a mystery involving numbers?
Who wins this round, Murray-arty or Benedict-Sherlock? With the help of the Count, Benedict successfully solves the problem and thwarts Murray. PBS uploaded the clip to YouTube on Tuesday and thanked Sesame Workshop and MASTERPIECE for contributing to the video.
