Beer Mug Forces Bar Visitors To Be Social In Real Life

Beer Mug For Social Conversations

Have you visited a bar lately, if you have it’s likely you were confronted by a lot of people who were constantly staring at their smartphones.

While we have become a more social society from behind our keyboards we often forget to disconnect and engage the old fashion way.

Hoping to end the lack of social interaction during a night on the town the Salve Jorge Bar in São Paulo, Brazil has unveiled the “Offline Glass.”

The beer mug is designed in such a way that it will only stand upright if you place your phone under a partially opened bottom side.

The Offline Glass is meant to make people focus on their real life encounters and not on their Facebook and Twitter accounts.

I can see clumsy drinkers and drunks spilling all over their own phones but its a novel approach to a real world problem.

If you plan to try out Offline Glass I would suggest first having your phone sprayed with Liquipel or another similar product. You could also try a water-safe smartphone case.

Do you think Offline Glass is a cool idea?
