Alternate ‘Lose Yourself’ Version Is A Mystery To Eminem

Did you know that there is an alternate version of “Lose Yourself?” Well, apparently Eminem didn’t either.

The new version of the song, which will appear on the singer’s upcoming album “Shady XV,” was apparently recorded around the same time as the original, but Eminem said that he has no recollection of recording the song.

The rapper released a teaser video of the song today. The clip includes a few seconds of audio from the alternate version of “Lose Yourself” as well as the story behind the track.

Eminem said: “There was another version of that song that I don’t even remember recording … I don’t remember where I was at when I recorded it. I don’t remember any of the first verse. I don’t remember. So he called me one day and told me about it, I was like, ‘What?’ He was like, ‘Remember the scratch version of “Lose Yourself?”’ I’m like, ‘No, I don’t.”

Eminem promised that fans would get the full story behind the song when “Shady XV” hits stores.

“Shady XV” is set for release on November 24. The new album will feature music from Eminem, as well as new songs from Shady Records artists like D12, Bad Meets Evil, and Yelawolf.
