2% Of Brand Posts Have Been About Thanksgiving Sales

Black Friday

Thanksgiving is less than one week away, and according to data collected by Expion, only two percent of brand social media posts talked about Thanksgiving sales.

A social media software company, Expion analyzed data from eight major retailers between October 15, and November 15.

Here were the retailers:

  • Best Buy
  • JCPenney
  • Kohl’s
  • Macy’s
  • Sears
  • Staples
  • Target
  • Toys R Us

Here is what Expion found:

  • Out of a total 494 posts, just 10 or two percent were about Thanksgiving holiday sales, which includes Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
  • Five out of eight retailers posted about holiday sales.
  • Target came in at number one for most Thanksgiving sales posts.
  • JCPenney used Pinterest, incorporating the #BlackFriday hashtag, and had the third most successful sales post.

Will you be heading out after Thanksgiving on Black Friday, and rubbing elbows with the crazies?
