Vimeo has announced a new partnership with cloud-based video enhancing platform Vivoom. The Vivoom platform allows users to add visual effects to their videos via its ‘Looks’ platform.
Using the platform users can create videos via Instagram type filters.
According to Vimeo CEO Kerry Trainor:
“By adding Looks, Vimeo continues to provide the tools that help people easily make better movies. Nearly every minute you see on TV or in movies has been visually enhanced. Everyone wants the same quality as the pros, but it’s out of reach for most people. Our aim is to make these types of high quality visual effects easy and accessible to everyone.”
Vimeo users can check out the ‘Looks’ platform by visiting vimeo.com/enhancer.
To use the ‘Looks’ platform users simply choose an already uploaded video or upload a new video. The video platform will then tell users to “select one of your videos to enhance.”
Vimeo shows users a split screen that offers a video of the originally uploaded video and the enhanced video which features the ‘Look.’
The video enhancement feature also includes a slider which can increase and decrease the intensity of the enhancement. After the user is happy with their changes they simply click “Enhance” to finish the process.
The Vimeo ‘Looks’ platform offers more than 500 looks compared to YouTube’s own video enhancement feature which provides 18 filters.
According to the company:
“Vimeo will provide Looks to its registered users for free for the next 90 days.”
After the 90 day period ‘Looks’ will cost a modest $0.99 each.
