Twitter has unveiled Vine, a new platform that allows users to create and share looped videos.
On the company’s official blog Twitter writes:
“Like Tweets, the brevity of videos on Vine (6 seconds or less) inspires creativity. Now that you can easily capture motion and sound, we look forward to seeing what you create.”

Vine can be downloaded for iPhone and iPod touch devices via the Apple App Store. The free app is currently only available for iOS, although Twitter promises:
“We’re working now to bring it to other platforms, so stay tuned for that.”
Especially happy with the Vine product is company co-founder Jack Dorsey who tweeted:
Vine is the most exciting thing I’ve seen in a while. Not just because of the team, because it brings an entirely new art form to the world.
