Dystopian thriller The Purge was released this weekend as the summer movie season kicked off — and despite initially mixed reviews, moviegoers turned out in high numbers to catch the film its opening nights.
While The Purge had a decent number of big-name releases with which to compete this summer, the film seems to have drawn a large number to theaters as the summer gets underway.
