‘The Hunger Games: Mockingjay’ Gets An Explosive New Trailer

Are you ready for more Katniss? The Hunger Games: Mocking Jay – Part 1 got it’s first major trailer today and, well, it’s pretty explosive.

Literally. Katniss and the other residents of Panem have apparently discovered exploding arrows. The new trailer showcases the rockets in a target range, but also shows them out in the field as Katniss downs a plane with a single shot.

Of course, the new Hunger Games trailer is more than just explosions. It sets up the new film as a battle between Katniss and Peeta. In one part, Peeta begs the residents of Panem to put their weapons down and surrender to the Capitol.

But Peeta hasn’t completely gone over to the dark side. In fact, the driving force behind Part One seems to be Katniss’ attempt to rescue Peeta from the Capitol.

At one point Katniss says: “You will rescue Peeta at the first opportunity or you will find a new Mockingjay.”

Lionsgate decided to split the final installment of The Hunger Games into two parts. The first part will hit theaters this November. Part two will be released on November 20, 2015.
