I’ve got some good news, sandwich lovers: Subway Jared isn’t dead! A hoax started circulating this morning claiming that Jared Fogle had died and the hashtag #RIPSubwayJared quickly went viral on Twitter. Well, it turns out that it was all a hoax.
Jared caught wind of the rumor earlier today and sent out a message to his fans.

The Subway Jared death hoax started like pretty much every other death hoax. Some schmuck penned a fake story and published it on the internet. It was then shared on Facebook and Twitter and soon everyone was talking about how that dude from Subway passed away.
And this isn’t the first time that this has happened to Jared. He’s been the victim of a death hoax several times over the last few years. Snopes dates the first hoax back to 2010 after Jared became a minor celebrity after losing more than 200 pounds with the Subway diet.
So no, Subway Jared isn’t dead. But here are a few people who were fooled by the hoax.
