Stephen Collins, Dad From ‘7th Heaven,’ Confesses To Child Molestation [Report]

Stephen Collins, the actor best known for playing minister Eric Camden on 7th Heaven, has reportedly confessed to child molestation.

According to TMZ, Collins made his confession during a therapy session with his wife, Fay Grant. The conversation was recorded and the audio has been given to the NYPD. No charges have been filed yet but an investigation is ongoing.

In the tape, Collins talks about a sexual experience he had with an 11-year-old girl from New York. Collins said: “There was one moment of touching where her hand, I put her hand on my penis.” Collins also admits to exposing himself to two more underage girls in the audio. When asked if he was erect when he exposed himself, Collins said: “No, I mean, no. Partial … maybe, I think.”

Stephen Collins starred in 7th Heaven from 1996 to 2007. He played the patriarch, a family man and minister, and frequently acted alongside young children like Mackenzie Rosman. There is no indication that Collins abused any of the actors on the set of 7th Heaven.

An NYPD official said that there were three victims mentioned on the tape. One is reportedly a relative of his wife’s, while the other two were neighborhood girls.

NYPD Detectives flew to Los Angeles last week to interview Grant about the tape. An official said that the NYPD believes that they can still prosecute Grant despite the fact that the confession was taped a few years ago and the acts of molestation happened decades ago. The official said that the statute of limitations runs from the date of reporting.
