The Northern Ireland Department of Environment have released a new video to promote driving and road safety awareness to its citizens.

Northern Ireland’s department of the environment insists the advert is ‘sensitive’ and feel that it is necessary to raise awareness to the 28 children that have died in car and road related deaths since the year 2000.

Road safety minister Mark H Durkan said: ‘This campaign is a real wake up call. It is a particularly sensitive and compelling message. After all, what could be more thought provoking than the realisation that, since 2000, the equivalent of a classroom of children have been killed as a result of speeding.’
