The Postcard iPhone app launched today, allowing users to post messages to various social media accounts, and their own websites.
The social networking app lets you set any one social network, or even your own website, as the “host.” Using this setup a user can set one account as the master account and have their other accounts retweet or post the same messages. With a host setup you can post longer content and then watch as that content is truncated before it is posted to Twitter or other networks.
Social media users are well-aware of account management tools that range from single account tools to HootSuite, Sprout Social, and various other options.
Realizing that many users hyper-target their messages based on the network they are using, the app also allows for post-by-post control for message delivery.
Among some of the social apps available networks are Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, and LinkedIn, among others.
Controlling your WordPress website is simple with a plugin that creates a “Custom Network” that allows the Postcard API to receive information and deliver messages with very little setup on the users behalf.
The Postcard iPhone app has been in beta testing for more than a year and was developed by Kyle Newsome, a WordPress blogger who was struggling to keep up with content updates to his blog.
The iPhone social app is free for up to 3 networks and then scales to $0.99, $2.99, $4.99 for 2, 5, or an unlimited number of websites.
