Have you noticed some of your friends, and even some very popular Pinterest personalities pinning butt pics? That may be because their accounts were recently hacked.

The pins, which you should avoid clicking, feature ads for weight loss pills and other weight-based programs.

Hacking at Pinterest is becoming an increasingly large problem with scam alert warnings recently being sent to users by the Better Business Bureau.

The hacked pins send users to landing pages for weight loss pills and to other pages that could place malware on the Pinterest users computer.

Hackers are gaining access to accounts through third-party apps and by inserting malicious code inside “Pin This” widgets. Those widgets are placed on thousands of websites.

Users are being encouraged to verify the reputation for any apps they download and verify for Pinterest access. If the program you want to download is not being offered by a trusted source, you should avoid the app
