Palcohol Powdered Alcohol Makes Social Media Drunk With Interest

A new “powdered alcohol” called Palcohol has social media buzzing, with news of the substance trending on Facebook, Twitter and Google.

Palcohol is, as suggested a powdered form of alcohol, similar to powered milk. You add Palcohol to water and bingo: instant alcoholic drink.

Once launched the company intends to offer six different flavors; two base spirits of:

  • V which is powder made from premium vodka distilled four times.
  • R which is powder made from premium Puerto Rican rum

Along with four cocktail flavors:

  • Cosmopolitan
  • Mojito
  • Powderita – tastes just like a Margarita
  • Lemon Drop

Along with the ability to mix it into a drink, Palcohol can also be used in cooking.

The company denies the idea for the product was one of an easy, or sneaky way of getting drunk, stating founder Mark Phillips:

Mark is an active guy…hiking, biking, camping, kayaking, etc. After hours of an activity, he sometimes wanted to relax and enjoy a refreshing adult beverage. But those activities, and many others, don’t lend themselves to lugging heavy bottles of wine, beer or spirits. The only liquid he wanted to carry was water.

So he thought? Wouldn’t it be great to have alcohol in powder form so all one had to do is add water? Since powder is light and compact, it wouldn’t be a burden to carry.

Yes, we’re sure that the hiking and biking community will be the key market who buys this…not.

The product has received approval from The Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau but may be some time off from being launched as the company is still seeking investor support to bring the product to market.
