Olympian Gus Kenworthy Plans To Save Stray Puppies In Sochi [Photos]

Gus Kenworthy Poses Stray Puppies

US Olympic skier Gus Kenworthy may have his focus on the slopes this week with the halfpipe and slopestyle skiing competitions, but he still took time out of his schedule to go visit Sochi’s stray dogs — and hopefully save a few from a life of suffering.

Kenworthy posted the following photo to his Twitter account on Tuesday after he spotted a stray puppy on the street while walking around the Winter Olympics’ host city.

Gus then revealed to followers that he didn’t just find one adorable puppy, he found four, and tried to hold all of them in his lap at one time (it didn’t quite work).

The tweets and adorable photos were certainly enough to to make the story cute, but what he did next was even sweeter. The freeskier from Telluride, Colorado, tweeted out that he’s doing everything he can to get the stray puppies off the streets, have them vaccinated, and, with a bit of luck, take them home with him when the Winter Games are over.

He added more photos of the adorable pups on Facebook, where he confessed he spent all afternoon playing with the sweet canines. We don’t blame him. Here’s hoping Gus Kenworthy’s plans work out to take the stray pups home.
