Police said a man well known to law enforcement for often huffing spray paint was arrested after he was suspected of beating his mother on the head with a spatula.
30-year-old Glenn Allen Casdorph, of St. Albans was charged Monday night with malicious wounding after an incident on McKinley Avenue, accordant to a filed criminal complaint in Kanawha County Magistrate Court.
Police responded 10:45 p.m. Monday to look into a reported domestic incident with injuries.
When an officer arrived on the scene, Casdorph was seated on a bench in the front yard. He had silver spray paint all over his face and hands and had a sizable steel bar in his hands, police said.
The officer apprehended Casdorph and went inside to check on the shape of his mother, Robin Casdorph. Robin’s head was shrouded with gauze, and there was a significant amount of blood on the back of her neck and her shirt.
The complaint stated St. Albans police have had several work-related encounters with Cadorph and are aware that he regularly huffs spray paint.
Police said Robin Casdorph was not taken by the Kanawha County Ambulance Authority at the time of the altercation.
Glenn Casdorph was transported to the St. Albans Police Department and was then brought to South Central Regional Jail, where he is being held currently on a $10,000 or 10% cash bond.
