Are you ready to try some Milka-Cola? Coca-Cola will soon start selling milk.
According to the Guardian, Coca-Cola will start selling Fairlife, which wil have 30% less sugar and 50% more protein than regular milk, in the United States next month. Milka-Cola will cost about twice as much as a regular gallon of milk but Sandy Douglas, Coke’s global chief customer officer, is so confident that people will buy it that he said it would “rain money” on the Coca-Cola company.
Douglas said: “We’re going to be investing in the milk business for a while to build the brand, so it won’t rain money in the early couple of years. But like Simply [Coke’s premium fruit juice line], when you do it well, it rains money later.”
Fox News reports that Coca-Cola’s milk will come from family-owned farms. The company also said that it is “pursuing the highest standards of milk quality, agricultural sustainability and animal comfort.”

Coca-Cola may believe that Fairlife Milk will make it “rain money” on them, but they’ll have to convince more people to start drinking milk. According to the trade journal Dairy Today, milk sales have dropped 8% in the last decade.
