Meribel Guardia aka Maribel del Rocío Fernández-García (born 29 May 1959) is a Costa Rican-Mexican Film Actress, Singer, Television Presenter, Model, Television Actress, Theatre Actress & Television Personality.
Maribel Guardia Biography
In 1978, Guardia was elected Miss Costa Rica, going on to represent her nation at the beauty pageant of Miss Universe 1978 and the beauty pageant of Miss World 1978. She was born in the Costa Rican city of San Jose. She has Mexican citizenship. Her sun sign is Gemini and Hawthorn is her flower of birth. After being elected as Miss Costa Rica in the year 1978, she rose to prominence.
After that, at the Miss Universe and Miss World beauty pageants the same year, she went on to represent her country.
The Miss Universe pageant was held in Acapulco and she received offers to establish a career there from Televisa producer Sergio Bustamante, but she went back to her country.
She accepted the offer several months later, and returned to Mexico, leaving her mother and boyfriend. She decided to stay in Mexico after landing in Mexico, so she became a citizen of Mexico and started to develop her career there.

Biography of Maribel Guardia
Then she became a small star on the screen and moved into feature films immediately. She made her film debut with the movie Como Mexico No Hay Dos en Mexico.
She became a recording artist in 1980 and also starred in various telenovelas at the same time. She had almost every leading beauty and fashion publication in Latin America on the cover list.
She has appeared in over a dozen telenovelas, including Tú y Yo, among others. Aventuras En El Tiempo, Misión S.O.S., among others, aventura y amor and Al diablo con los guapos.
At a lot of charitable events, she even made goodwill appearances and helped raise money. Her performing talents overshadowed her acting abilities entirely.
She is in her forties and has aged gracefully and is still known in Latin America as a symbol of beauty.
She had previously married Joan Sebastian between 1992 and 1996 and had a son named Julian Figueroa with him.
After parting ways with Joan Sebastian, she raised her son alone. She got married to Marco Chacon in 2010.
