Marg Helgenberger is an American actress (born November 16, 1958). In the CBS police procedural drama CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (2000-13) and the subsequent TV movie Immortality (2015), and as K.C., she is notable for her role as Catherine Willows. Koloski (1988–91) in the ABC drama China Beach.

In this drama series, she received the Emmy Award for her Outstanding Supporting Role in 1990. She was born in the city of Fremont, Nebraska, USA. Her mom is Mary Kay, and Hugh Helgenberger is her dad.

She attended high school in North Bend Central. During high school, she played the French horn instrument. As she attended college, she decided to become a nurse just like her mother, but she studied at Kerney State College, then studied at Northwestern University, at the School of Speech in Evanston, Illinois, and received a degree in Speech and Drama.

She started her career as a nightly weather presenter on KHGI TV. In 1981, she spotted a talent scout while performing in a college production.

At the end of her graduation, she moved to New York City to audition for roles and started her acting career. Then she landed Siobhan Ryan’s part on the “Ryan’s” TV show (1982-1985). And the series received positive feedback for its amazing results.
