Livefyre Acquires Social Curation Platform Storify

Livefyre

Livefyre, a fast-growing commenting platform, has acquired Storify, a social media curation tool for an undisclosed sum.

According to CEO and founder Jordan Kretchmer, there are no plans to shut down Storify, and it will remain as its own service.

From Jordan:

Not only will we be keeping the great Storify product and brand completely intact, we will be investing in both moving forward. That means that there will always be a free version of Storify as we work to continue to grow the Storify community, just as there has always been a free version of Livefyre.

The social curation tool has just five employees, and they will all be joining the Livefyre team.

This is a great acquisition for the commenting platform after its launch of StreamHub in September 2012.

StreamHub allows website owners to easily integrate social media content, and Storify will help to streamline the process.

In February 2013, Livefyre raised $15 million, and has over 400 enterprise customers such as AOL, CBS, and The New York Times.
