LinkedIn on Tuesday announced the opening of Company API Pages for developers.
The new update allows all developers to enabled “marketers to publish content to a LinkedIn Company Page, monitor comments in real-time, and retrieve analytics via API.”
Over the last year the Company Pages API has been opened to only a select group of developers which include Hootsuite, HubSpot, Spredfast, Adobe, Shoutlet, Percolate, Salesforce, and Sprinklr.
With the floodgates now open LinkedIn says marketers and development partners will receive some much needed advantages. Here is what LinkedIn has in store for users:
What does this mean for marketers?
We want to enable our clients to manage their content marketing from any tool they are comfortable using. Opening our Company Page APIs means that all applications will have access to LinkedIn Company Pages. This will make it even easier for marketers to generate and manage content on LinkedIn and use our new Sponsored Updates solution to extend the reach of that content.
What does this mean for development partners?
We want to welcome all developers to access our Company Page APIs. We believe this will strengthen our ecosystem and evangelize important applications and uses. We will continue to select developers who build world-class products and achieve impressive scale to become official partners under our Social Media Management program. Developers can see our developer blog post here to access the Company Page APIs and get started.
The company also put together a Slideshare presentation for the Company API Pages:
