Lil Bub Celebrates Her 2nd Birthday, Scores Online TV Deal

Lil Bub 2nd Birthday

Lil Bub, also known as one of social media’s most recognizable felines, celebrated her second trip around the sun today. This is a pretty big deal for a lot of folks, in case you were wondering.

The tiny cat with the giant eyes and protruding tongue became a sensation on Facebook after pictures of the perma kitten started making the rounds. Soon, everyone wanted their picture taken with Bub. In fact, the popular feline recently posed for a photo with legendary actor Robert De Niro.

According to the Toronto Sun, Lil Bub made a splash at this year’s Tribeca Film Festival. The documentary Lil Bub Friendz was a huge hit with fans; the flick won an award for best feature online.

If that wasn’t enough to make a certain grumpy kitty extremely jealous, The Wrap reports the world’s favorite perma kitten recently signed a television deal with Revision3. The online video network, which is owned by Discovery, will work with Bub’s best friend Mike Bridavsky to produce the program.

“We’ve been watching Bub explode as an online personality and talking to her team about a new concept and a channel around Bub. The channel on YouTube will be expanded with a ton more content we’ll co-produce,” Revision3’s Ryan Vance told the website.

Lil Bub will host a series on the network which finds her interviewing people on the street, at movie premieres, and through Skype. Episodes will begin airing this August.
