Kurt Cobain Hologram Hoax: Nirvana Is Not Playing Coachella

Nirvana isn’t going to let a silly thing like death stop them from hitting the road again. Yep, the band will be playing festivals like Coachella this summer with a Kurt Cobain hologram…

That sounds kind of plausible, right? Entertainment companies have started investing in hologram technology to bring stars like Tupac back to the stage. Nirvana also recently reunited and with the 20th anniversary of Kurt Cobain’s death it wouldn’t be too far-fetched to see a hologram of the iconic singer stepping out in front of the crowd.

In fact, the story is so believable that many people didn’t bat an eye when they first read the report published on the satiracle website National Report.

The story reads: “In 2013, attendees of Cochella were blown away when a holographic image of Tupac Shakur walked onto the stage … Since then, record execs have been mulling over which deceased artist they should resurrect next and it appears they’ve finally made their decision; The legendary grunge rocker, Kurt Cobain. Yes, it has been confirmed that Kurt Cobain will once again take the stage alongside original Nirvana members, Dave Grohl, and, Krist Novoselic, for what is sure to be the biggest concert event of 2014.”

But don’t get too excited (or angry) because the story is completely false. Kurt Cobain will not be resurrected via hologram and Nirvana is not planning on a reunion tour (at least not one involving Mr. Cobain).

IF Nirvana was thinking about doing something as silly as bringing a Kurt Cobain hologram on tour with them, they should take a second to think about it a little more and read some of the comments on Twitter. People were pretty upset at the very idea of the Grunge rocker being digitally recreated.
