Kickstarter Hits Over $1 Billion In Pledges

Kickstarter has helped tens of thousands of projects get funding, and according to the crowdfunding site, has received over $1 billion in pledges.

The billion dollar figure includes funding towards projects that weren’t successful, and is spread across over 5.7 million users.

With 13,796,898 total pledges, that comes out to an average pledge of around $72.

Here’s the breakdown of money raised by country:

  • United States – $663,316,496
  • United Kingdom – $54,427,475
  • Canada – $44,913,678
  • Australia – $31,776,566
  • Germany – $21,607,047
  • France – $10,131,159
  • Japan – $7,139,419
  • Sweden – $7,150,257
  • Netherlands – $7,033,026
  • Singapore – $6,710,981

Out of the 57,128 successfully funded Kickstarter projects, here’s how much they were looking to raise:

  • Less than $1000 – 6,164
  • $1000 to $9999 – 36,250
  • $10,000 to $19,999 – 7,623
  • $20,000 to $99,999 – 5,943
  • $100,000 to $999,999 – 1,090
  • $1,000,000 and up – 58

According to Kickstarter, projects have a 43.55 percent success rate, and last month announced it saw $480 million in pledges in 2013.
