James Cameron is pretty excited about the Avatar sequels.
The director told Empire Magazine that the new films were going to be absolutely “bitchin.'”
Cameron said: “They’re gonna be bitchin’. You will shit yourself with your mouth wide open.”

Of course, Cameron did more than hype the new films. He also gave Empire a few technical details. The director said that he would be filming in 48 fps, not 60, and that he was already done with the story. Cameron said that he wrote one long story for the Avatar sequels and now his writing team, including Rick Jaffa, Amanda Silver, Josh Friedman and Shane Salerno, are working on breaking it down into three movies.
Cameron said: “I think we met for seven months and we whiteboarded out every scene in every film together. and I didn’t assign each writer which film they were going to work on until the last day. I knew if I assigned them their scripts ahead of time, they’d tune out every time we were talking about the other movie.”
The original Avatar, which came out in 2009, is the highest grossing movie of all-time. The first Avatar sequel will hit theaters in 2016 and it sounds like James Cameron is expecting to break his own record.
