INB4 Twitter: Facebook Adds Photo Filters To Mobile App

We reported yesterday that Twitter was secretly planning to add photo filters to their mobile app, which would have ideally created stronger competition among Facebook and Instagram apps. No one in Twitter would confirm the Instagram-style photo filters plot, probably because they didn’t want exactly what ended up happening to happen:

Facebook beat them to the punch.

Facebook users with an updated iOS app can now add Instagram-style filters to pictures that they upload with their mobile device. With the updated app, you select a photo to upload and then tap the wand icon, revealing 13 filters (contrast, cool, coffee, neon, b&w, etc.). After you run the photo through the filter you want, you can upload the picture directly from the app to Facebook.

Cool, but dang. Sorry Twitter!
