HootSuite Assignments, a new feature from the popular social network management platform was announced on Tuesday. Assignments allows HootSuite Pro and Enterprise customers to quickly diffuse crisis situations and take advantage of marketing opportunities in real-time via a new Google Chrome extension.
Assignments is a Google Chrome extension that allows Pro and Enterprise clients to assign a social media post to any Team member on their squad. As social media managers browse Facebook.com and Twitter.com they simple pick posts and assign them in real-time.
By using the system a manager can assign posts to the proper team members in sales, customer support, public relations, marketing departments and more
HootSuit Assignments is explained by the company as such:
“After installing the new HootSuite Assignments extension, HootSuite Team members have access to an Assign To button option, located directly below each social media post on Facebook.com and Twitter.com websites. Users can then:
1 Choose the HootSuite Team they wish to assign the post in question message to.=
2 Assign to either the entire team, or select the most appropriate member.
3 Have the option to include a custom message to help guide next action of the message.”
When a post is assigned the assignee will receive an email notification prompting the assignee to view that post within an in-browser popup menu. The system then monitors the progress of assigned tasks through their completion stage.
Speaking of the HootSuite assignments platform CEO Ryan Holmes notes:
“Social media gives businesses the remarkable ability to listen to what the public and their clients are saying about their brand or their product, and then respond in real-time. HootSuite Assignments is meant for use by small, medium and large scale operations that rely on different departments and team members for different types of issues.
