Google Glass Going Social With Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, And Others

Google Glass with Social Integration

What could be better than creepily spying on people with your Google Glass hardware? How about posting your creepy ways to social networks.

During the Google I/O conference on Thursday the search giant announced that it was bringing further social media access to Google Glass. Among some of the notable additions will be Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr and collaboration suite Evernote.

Google Glass is not a stranger to social networking, having already revealed a Path app for the system.

Google Glass apps are expected to increase in number and will be marketed under the term “Glassware.”

Twitter was quick to announce its support for Google Glass as users of the popular beta hardware have pictures being auto-hashtagged #throughglass.

It’s not just big social networks that are going social with Google Glass. For example, the publication Elle is curating photos, videos and read-aloud excerpts and allowing users to share articles and photos with their contacts via Google Glass.

It’s still unclear exactly how popular the new glasses from Google will be but needless to say the search giant is moving ahead full force with the wearable tech.
