Facebook is home to thousands of novelty pages, and popular page “I Fucking Love Science” is set to air on the Science Channel towards the end of 2014.
Announced at SXSW, comedian and late night talk show host Craig Ferguson will be an executive producer.
The show will be an hour long, and have a combination of animation, live-action and reenactments.
From Craig Ferguson:
“If you know anything about me, you know I love science. Science has a naughty secret — it’s that all things are connected. And this show is going to explore the randomness of science. Think of it as a late night Google search that goes a hundred pages deep until things get weird — and then you just keep going. And there is no better partner for this kind of smart entertainment like Science Channel and Elise.”
I Fucking Love Science was created in March 2012 by biology student Elise Andrew.
The Facebook page currently has over 10 million likes, and Andrew says she’ll be working as a consulting producer and ensuring the show sticks to its vision.
Financial terms of the deal have not been revealed, and I Fucking Love Science does not have a set release date other than the fourth quarter of 2014.
