With Facebook shares trading close to their IPO level the social networks Chief Accounting Officer Jas Athawl wasted no time in selling some of his holdings.
Facebook shares closed at $36.80 on Wednesday, far above the company’s low of nearly $17.
In an SEC Form 4 filing Athawl revealed sales totaling 25,375 class-A shares of Facebook common stock at $34.97 apiece, and another 125 shares at $35.65.
Athwal now controls 152,029 Facebook shares.
One look at Facebook share pricing since it’s IPO in early 2012 and it’s easy to see why Athwal unloaded a good number of shares:
With investors currently looking at Facebook as a safe investment we may see more executives offloading some of their shares in an attempt to capitalize on the highest Facebook share prices in more than a year.
