There is a firestorm of controversy surrounding the formerly cookie-cutter reputation of iconic “Cosby Show” actor and comedian Bill Cosby.
Joan Tarshis is the latest woman to accuse Cosby of rape. Tarshis went on “CNN Tonight” tuesday evening and discussed her encounter with Cosby, which took place when she was 19 years-old in 1969:
The interview alone would have been newsworthy, but something Lemon said ensured his chat with Tarshis would make headlines across the country.
While discussing the intimate details of Tarshis’ alleged oral rape, Lemon stated:
There are ways not to perform oral sex if you didn’t want to do it.
A confounded Tarshis replied that it “didn’t even enter her mind” to which Lemon provided the clarification:
You mean the using of the teeth.
So, Lemon basically asked Tarshis why she didn’t bite the penis of her rapist. Yeah.
Unsurprisingly, Twitter was quick to savage Lemon for his interview performance. The mocking hashtag “#DonLemonReporting” began trending.
"So when he pushed you down to take your purse, why didn't you just give him the purse to begin with?" #donlemonreporting

The tongue-in-cheek quips mercilessly ripped Lemon for his cluelessness and insensitivity:

And they just kept coming:
"So you told him you had an STD, but gingivitis never entered your mind?"#DonLemonReporting

Lemon later apologized for the interview stating:
If my question to her struck anyone as offensive, I am sorry, as that certainly was not my intention
But the damage to his reputation may already be done.
