Contapps For Android: A More Robust Social Contact List

Contapps Android Application

If you’re using the included Android Contacts app with your Smartphone you may have already integrated your Facebook status updates with your contact information, unfortunately the program doesn’t currently allow for Twitter access or integration with other third party social networks and that’s where Contapps comes into play. Using this new social integration program users can now wrangle all of their social network updates into one spot.

The Contapps program works by placing all of your contacts in a grid of photos, simply tap on a contact’s picture and you will see all of that person’s contact info, the ability to send email and even a button to call that contact or send them a text message, there is then a button bar that expands at the bottom to show updates from that users social networks which includes Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare and LinkedIn. It should also be noted that the program supports the “pinch” feature which will allow you to resize your photo grid on the fly.

As an added feature users can also push a single button to run a Google search on their contacts name or plot their address on a Google Map for easy navigation.

If that isn’t enough information for you to process or you have too many contacts to look through you can also sort them alphabetically, by the frequency at which you call or text a contact or by Recent calls.

The program is free and still has some bugs to work out, such as the programs Google Gesture Search which is said to be a bit buggy and admittedly is listed as a beta feature for the program.

Here’s a quick look at the programs easy to navigate photo grid based interface:
