Colin Kaepernick doesn’t appreciate the rumors that have been flying around about him recently.
The San Francisco 49ers quarterback took to Twitter this morning to refute the story published earlier this week on TMZ.
(1/3) The charges made in the TMZ story and other stories I’ve seen are completely wrong. They make things up about me that never happened.

(2/3) I take great pride in who I am and what I do, but I guess sometimes you have to deal with someone who makes things up.

(3/3) I want to thank all of the people who have shared their encouraging sentiments. I assure you that your faith is not misplaced.

Kaepernick was reportedly involved in a “suspicious incident” earlier this month. A woman told police that she was drinking with Kaepernick, 49ers wide receiver Quinton Patton and Seahawks wide receiver Ricardo Lockette on April 1. The woman says that she remembers smoking marijuana with the three NFL players nd that she remembers getting naked. She doesn’t remember, however, how she ended up in the hospital with no other memory of the night.
Initial reports speculated that Kaepernick was being accused of sexual assault but no official charges have been filed. The woman also said that she didn’t have sex with Kaepernick on the night in question. They two did, according to the woman, have a romantic relationship previous to April 1.
The 49ers said that they were aware of the situation and that they were currently collecting facts about the incident.
