Anti-Gun Group’s Fake ‘Look Back’ Video Shames Facebook

Facebook A Closer Look video At Gun Sales

‘Moms Demand Action For Gun Sense In America’ has posted a Facebook Look Back video spoof. The satire is meant to showcase the dangers of gun advocacy currently allowed by the world’s largest social network.

The video, titled ‘A Closer Look: End Facebook Gun Sales’ showcases various guns that have been shared and celebrated by Facebook users.

On its YouTube page the not-for-profit agency writes:

“On the heels of Facebook’s 10th anniversary and the “look back” videos that have dominated newsfeeds this week, Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America today released a parody video to take a “closer look” at how Facebook makes it easy for guns to be bought and sold online — without criminal background checks.

SHARE our new video and ask your friends to SIGN our petition asking Facebook and Instagram to enact policies prohibiting gun sales: www.DemandAction.org/Facebook”

The videos call to action has been viewed more than 84,000 times since it was posted on February 7, 2014.

Facebook has long said that it would not stop the direct posting of gun-related pictures, however, it has also fought back against gun giveaways and other programs that are more advertorial in nature.

Do you think Facebook users should have the freedom to post pictures and videos of their gun use and promotions?
