Anna Chlumsky didn’t look very amused as her co-star Julia Louis-Dreyfus accepted her Emmy Award.
The actress, who lost earlier in the night to Merrit Wever, was spotted texting on her phone as Louis-Dreyfus accepted her award.

TV viewers couldn’t believe it. How could she be so bored? Isn’t she happy for her co-star? Isn’t she happy for her show?
Anna Chlumsky is just texting, all “why don’t I get to hold JLD’s purse?” #Emmys

Anna Chlumsky texting for the win! ##Emmys — Paolo Miguel Kagaoan (@paolocase) September 23, 2013
Of course, Anna Chlumsky wasn’t texting because she was bored. She was texting because she’s funny. The Veep actors were in character as Julia Lewis-Dreyfus accepted the award. Tony Hale was obviously playing his character Gary Walsh and Julia Louis-Dreyfus was obviously playing Selina Meyer. But the brief cutaway to Chlumsky left some viewers (who obviously aren’t Veep fans) a little confused.
Anna Chlumsky texting during Julia’s speech was hilarious. That is one talented cast. #Veep #Emmys — Ryan Pimentel (@RyanPimentel) September 23, 2013
To all @AnnaChlumsky was not texting. She was N character on her show Veep. She’s always on her phone whole cast was just in character. — Kay (@KFisher_18) September 23, 2013
This bit with Tony Hale, with Anna Chlumsky texting in the crowd. is almost as fantastic as his win. #AnnaChlumsky https://t.co/qxOsjf3Y2t

Did you get fooled by the skit? Did you think Anna Chlumsky was really texting?
