Amazon Now Lets You Tweet To Add Products To Your Cart

Amazon

Amazon is making a new feature available to Twitter users that allows you to add products to your cart by replying to a tweet with a special hashtag.

Dubbed #AmazonCart, it’s open to customers in the US and UK. Being one of the world’s largest e-commerce sites, customers and companies frequently share links to product pages.

If you see something you like, you head on over to the site, and if you want it, click the “Add to cart” button. Not a big deal, but apparently Amazon feels that takes up too much time.

Now, whenever you see a tweet linking to a product on Amazon, you can simply reply with the hashtag #AmazonCart, and it will automatically be added to your cart.

You must first connect your Twitter account via the Your Social Settings page in order for it to work. Again, tweeting just adds it to your cart, and does not automatically purchase it for you.

After tweeting with the hashtag, you’ll quickly receive a reply that looks something like this:

Killing the joke, Amazon didn’t take my request for a 55-gallon drum of lubricant seriously, which is probably a good thing for my personalized recommendations and psyche.
