Adam Dunn is saying goodbye to the Chicago White Sox and hello to the Oakland Athletics.
The veteran hitter was traded to the A’s this morning in exchange for minor league pitcher Nolan Sanburn. The Athletics made the announcement on their official Twitter account.

ESPN reports that since the trade was made before August 31, Dunn will be eligible for the post season. The 34-year-old ball player has 460 career home runs and the A’s are hoping that Dunn can bring some of his power to Oakland. The Athletics have been struggling in the hitting department since trading Yoenis Cespedes on July 31.
Oakland makes the most sense for Adam Dunn. He can DH, the A’s need power. Haven’t been same since Cespedes trade.

Dunn may have been a powerhouse in his heyday but his stats have slowed in recent years. He is currently hitting .220 with 20 homes and 54 RBIs this season. Dunn’s bat is also unproven in the postseason. Despite the fact that Dunn has played nearly 2000 regular season games he has never played in the post-season.
Well I don’t know if Adam Dunn is the answer to our problems but he might be an offensive plug that can spark our offense… #Athletics
