1969 Shelby Discovered Under Sea Of Dust

Mustang Shelby 660

A 1969 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 428 Cobra Jet is trending on Facebook. It isn’t just that the car exists, but rather that it was found in perfect showroom condition.

According to Yahoo News the original owner of the car was so worried about scratching the paintjob or causing rust, that he NEVER washed the vehicle.

As its name suggests the muscle car features a 428-cubic-inch Cobra Jet engine alongside a four-speed manual transmission. The car only has 8,500 miles on it and the park plugs, belts, fan, and hoses are all original. The only non-original item are the vehicles tires.

Originally purchased for $5,245 in 1969, the car is expected to fetch more than $100,000 through Ron Gilligan Auctioneering on April 25.

The owner of the vehicle recently passed away, also found at his home were a 1971 Ford Ranchero and a 1974 Ford Econoline Custom 100 van with 554 original miles. Those vehicles and others are being auctioned off as part of the original owners estate sale.
