OLON Brings Persistent AI Worlds to Players, Creators and Studios

Swiss start-up OLON launches a platform where AI characters remember, evolve and keep living in shared worlds. Launch is planned for late November 2026. Most AI chat products forget everything once a conversation ends. OLON, a new platform developed in Switzerland, is betting on the opposite: AI characters that live in persistent worlds, build relationships and keep a record of what they experience. The service is scheduled to go live in late November 2026.

From chatbot to living world

OLON combines generative AI with a platform layer that organizes characters, places and the connections between them. Each character has its own personality, history and relationships. The world keeps running even when no user is watching: characters travel, meet each other, become friends or fall out. Everything a character experiences is stored in a chronicle that grows over time. When a user returns, the character reports what happened in the meantime. According to the company, these stories are not invented on the spot – they describe events that actually took place inside the world.

Stage, Creator and emergent quests

The product is split into two parts. OLON Stage is where users chat with characters, take on quests and play or read stories. Quests arise naturally from conversations, for example when a character asks for help, and are rewarded on completion. OLON Creator is the toolset for building characters, stories and entire worlds. A new world starts from a short description of era, mood and style. The system then generates twelve illustrated locations, character types, ranked organizations, items and tools, and twelve initial inhabitants. Content is translated into all supported languages; the website currently runs in English, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese and Japanese.

Shared worlds with fixed rules

Each account can create up to three worlds. Once complete, a world goes live publicly. Other users may settle up to three characters per world, within a limited number of slots, and characters owned by different people interact with one another. Whether a world permits adult content is decided at creation and cannot be changed later. Creators are credited under an alias; account details stay private.

Business model

OLON is aimed at adults aged 18 and over. It runs on an in-platform currency called Sparks. Free accounts receive a monthly Sparks allowance for chatting, and the first custom character is free. Larger creations, images and voice features can be unlocked with additional Sparks or a subscription, with costs shown before every confirmation.

A platform for game developers

Beyond its consumer app, OLON is building an offering for developers and studios. The goal is to let them build their own applications on top of OLON worlds and use characters and world content in their games – a potential shortcut for studios that want believable non-player characters without writing every line of dialogue.
