We’ve seen some unusual romantic pairings in our time. Like the gay man who fell in love with a lesbian, or the guy who took his cat to the prom. But this new relationship to go viral is other worldy.
Amethyst Realm, from Bristol, UK, claims she’s fallen in love with a ghost she met on holiday in Australia, and is now planning on having “ghost babies” with her spirit lover.
The 30-year-old, who works as a spiritual counsellor, told New Idea: “One day, while I was walking through the bush, enjoying nature, I suddenly felt this incredible energy. I knew a new lover had arrived.
“It’s pretty serious. In fact, we’ve even been thinking about having a ghost baby. I know that sounds crazy but I’ve been looking into it and I don’t think it’s totally out of the question.”
The couple have now been together for six months, with her spectral sweetheart following her back to the UK.
When it came to how the pair plan to conceive, Amethyst shared her controversial belief that phantom pregnancies are actually ghost babies that unable to make it full-term. She claims that some women get pregnant by spirits, but because the mother “can’t process it,” they’re never born.
“I’m sure there’s a way around that – I just haven’t worked it out yet,” she said.
This isn’t the first time Amethyst has been wooed by a gentlemen from beyond the grave. Last year, she appeared on British news program This Morning, where she told hosts Holly Willoughby and Philip Schofield she’d slept with 20 ghosts over a 12-year period.
“I could imagine you’ve got quite a name for yourself in the spirit world,” a stunned Philip told her.
Amethyst says she gave up on live men after splitting with her fiance in 2007, and believes she can talk to, feel, and have intercourse with spirits, although she can’t see them (including her new beau).
Supposedly, ghost men are better in the bedroom, and every sexual encounter has resulted in orgasm. Her first time occured when she and her now ex moved into a new house and she came across a “presence.”
She told the presenters: “It started as an energy, then became physical. There was pressure on my thighs and breath on my neck.
“I just always felt safe. I had sex with the ghost.”
Amethyst claims she continued to have an affair with the ghost until her partner “caught them in the act.” In other words, the ghost showed its physical form to him, which at that point Amethyst hadn’t seen for herself.
“I think it was in love with me too and it wanted me to end the relationship,” she explained.
What the hell do we bring to the baby shower?
