Zynga Ditching Three More Games, CityVille 2 On The Chopping Block

CityVille 2

Social gaming company Zynga has announced plans to shut down three more games – City Ville 2, Party Friends and The Friend Game.

While may users may not have heard about Party Friends and The Friend Game, CityVille 2 was the successor of the popular CityVille title, one of Zynga’s biggest hits of all-time.

According to David Ko, CityVille 2 failed because of a rushed lead time that didn’t allow for proper game testing.

Zynga recently announced plans to shut down 11 of its failing game titles. The company is also shutting down its Boston office as part of its cost-saving measures.

The social gaming firm hopes that its new games will have more franchise potential, allowing for longer lifespans.

While Zynga continues to cut out under-performing titles and fire workers, the social gaming firm actually beat Q4 analyst estimates.

As we recently reported Zynga’s chief game designer Brian Reynold’s has resigned from his post.
