Remember that scene in the first Kill Bill movie where she was in a coma for years and the male hospital staff had been taking advantage of her limp body in the most disgusting of ways? Well, turns out that actually happens in poor women in real life too. One woman who was in a vegetative state even got pregnant and gave birth because of this.

Now how is that even possible? Some sicko(s), perhaps. Apparently, the incident happened in Hacienda Skilled Nursing Facility. An anonymous female patient who has been in a vegetative state for 14 years after a near-drowning accident just gave birth to a baby boy back on December 29. Of course, being in a vegetative state, similar to a coma, she had no way to defend or even express herself.

The report actually came from an anonymous whistleblower who came to a Phoenix CBS affiliate after she felt anger and sadness at what happened to the woman in the vegetative state. According to the whistleblower, the said woman required 24/7 monitoring and many of the nursing facility’s employees had access to her room.

Despite the monitoring, “None of the staff were aware that she was pregnant until she was pretty much giving birth,” claimed the whistleblower. After hearing of the complaint, the Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS) is now working with the police to investigate the incident.

ADHS also implemented a new state policy for nursing facilities where male staff can no longer enter a female patient’s room without being accompanied by female staff. Meanwhile, the said baby who was conceived because of apparent rape was born alive and healthy.
