YouTube Create Will Shut Down Today

YouTube Create Shutting Down

YouTube Create, a third-party app solution that features the likes of Xtranormal, WeVideo, GoAnimate, Vlix, Magisto, Stupeflix and others, will shut its door at the end of the day.

Launched two years ago Create never received much traction from YouTube users and that lack of traction led to Google’s decision.

Third-party app developers will still have access to the YouTube API but will no longer have direct exposure on the YouTube website. The YouTube API is used by those creators to develop editing applications for YouTube videos.

YouTube will remove the Youtube.com/create and also remove iframe integration.

The YouTube Create page still asks developers to become a partner but that link will soon disappear.

Creators received an email about the YouTube Create closure earlier in the month.

Do you think removing YouTube Create is a mistake or will users ultimately find the video editing apps they wish to implement?
