Children in the schools of America are facing a potential threat for every minute they spend in the said institutions. The recent incidents of school shooting perpetrated by disturbed individuals– some of whom are students themselves have been quite alarming. However, it seems that the suspects are not limited to just Americans, a Taiwanese exchange student has recently been accused of planning such a sinister deed.

18-year-old Sun An-tso was a child of celebrity parents Di Ying and Sun Peng. He was arrested back on March 28 and charged with possessing ammunition and federal firearms back in June. Sun has now pleaded guilty and has agreed to deportation. His sentencing was initially scheduled for December, however, his lawyer asked the date to be moved once the pre-sentencing report is done.

Sun’s initial charges were actually different. Previously, it was a state terroristic threat charge where Sun also pleaded guilty. He was then sentenced to a maximum of 23 months. However, he was immediately paroled and was remanded to federal custody to face the charge of an alien in possession of ammunition. Now he could face up to 10 years in prison and a US$250,000 in fines.

Sun was first taken into custody after he seemingly joked to his friend, “I’m going to come here armed and shoot up the school. Just kidding.” He was referring to his high school in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania. The police took the matter seriously though and proceeded to search Sun’s room in his host family’s house. There, they found a semi-automatic pistol, more than 1,000 rounds of ammunition, a crossbow, and a ballistic suit.
