Chart Topping Social Media Entertainment Of 2012

Social Media Entertainment in 2012

It has been a huge year for social media entertainment and some celebrities and even entire sports teams have managed to fare better with the general public than others. The team at StarCount, a social media tracking firm, took the time to examine this years breakout social media contributors and list them in video infographic form.

Among some of this years biggest breakouts was FC Barcelona with 56 million fans, in case you’re keeping track that is 17 times the entire population of Madrid.

On YouTube Justin Bieber was the big winner with 3.2 billion views. Although we have to give it up to Psy who has racked up more than 1 billion views for just one song, Gangham Style.

The video infographic specifically looks at the 11 biggest social networks in the United States including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and others.

So Justin Bieber is entertaining the equivalent of half the world’s population, or approximately several million girls who just watch his videos repeatedly. But how did the rest of this years social media stars do? Watch the video below to find out:

I’m most impressed with Eminem’s 60,000 new Facebook fans per day!
