Wow. 2015 has come and gone. We have a lot to look forward to in the next year: new president, the first Star wars anthology film, and even a few revolutions in the way countries tackle climate change and income inequality. In all, 2016 looks like it will be a great year.

Here are our favorite quotes to ring it all in (by the way, if you’re wondering where that expression comes from, check out this super informative etymology).

“Tomorrow, is the first blank page of a 365 page book. Write a good one.”
― Brad Paisley

I don’t know about you, but the first half of my book involves rigorously working out to shed the extra 10 pounds of winter girth I acquired courtesy of a Thanksgiving turkey and Christmas ham. Oh, who am I kidding? Pass the potatoes, please.

“Cheers to a new year and another chance for us to get it right.”
― Oprah Winfrey

I don’t know if we’ll ever “get it right,” (mostly because nobody seems to agree on what “it” or “right” actually mean) but cheers nonetheless.

“May the New Year bring you courage to break your resolutions early! My own plan is to swear off every kind of virtue, so that I triumph even when I fall!”
― Aleister Crowley, in Moonchild

Leave it to a wizard to come up with the chillest New Years quote ever. No, seriously–the guy who said this was a wizard. Look it up.

“I would say happy new year but it’s not happy; it’s exactly the same as last year except colder. ”
― Robert Clark

Tell us how you really feel, Rob.

“For last year’s words belong to last year’s language
And next year’s words await another voice.”
― T.S. Eliot, Four Quartets

And what shall next year’s words be? There’s only one way to find out–here’s to another year closer to death. Cheers!
