Man Uses Facebook To Live-Blog His Standoff With Police

The guy likes to call himself “Teflon Tom.” That should be enough right there for you to know that some extremely stupid choices were made.

Last week, Thomas Santagata had a run-in with the law after harassing his 61-year-old neighbor. Witnesses say that Santagata waved a knife in his neighbor’s face as he yelled, “I’m gonna stab you. I’m gonna kill you.”

When officers showed up, he ran inside his house. As officers were waiting to gain access to his house, he decided to chronicle the event. As a standoff began, the 25-year-old took to Facebook to share his thoughts on what was happening.

“GOT 50 PLUS PIGS TRYING TO BREAK INTO MY HOUSE! I LOVE THIS (expletive), SO EXCITING… TEN DUDES TRY TO JUMP ME AND I HAVE TO GO INTO CUSTODY? GUESS IT IS CAUSE MY INFAMOUS REPUTATION,” Santagata wrote on his public Facebook page at 6:46 p.m. Wednesday.

Santagata hinted that his wanted status had nothing to do with his personal activities. Yea right, buddy.

Search warrant in hand, police eventually busted down his door and found 265 Xanax pills, three working gravity knives, five ninja stars, a metal knuckle knife and metal knuckles in one room of the house, court papers allege. That doesn’t even cover what was found in the three cars that were on his property.

SILive reports officers found “78 packs of cigarettes with Virginia tax stamps and a sales ledger in two of his cars, and in the trunk of one vehicle, an FDNY “Toughbook” laptop that had been stolen from an EMT working at Staten Island University Hospital, Ocean Breeze, on Nov. 22, 2013, court papers allege.”

Of course, Santagata was arrested, but charges were dropped after the victim refused to press charges. Despite getting off for this crime, Santagata still faces several other charges for the illegal weapons. He is no stranger to crime either. “Teflon Tom” is currently awaiting trial for an aggravated kidnapping charge. He is one classy individual. He remains in jail on a $24,500 bond.

As for his Facebook, he normally posts about Batman or Superman (you know, except for the random police standoff.)
